Garcia signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as an international free agent in 2017. He made his professional debut that year with the Dominican Summer League Cardinals and also played for the Gulf Coast League Cardinals and the Peoria Chiefs.

He began the 2018 season with the Palm Beach Cardinals and was promoted to the Springfield Cardinals in June.
